Case filed against BJP candidate for checking Muslim voters' ID cards, asking them to lift burqa
A tragic incident unfolds in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, as 22-year-old Sunil Tiwari, known as Chhotu, records a distressing video accusing the village headman and his associates of harassment before consuming poisonous tablets and taking his own life. In the viral video, Sunil narrates his ordeal and expresses uncertainty about his survival, urging action against those responsible. Following the video's circulation on social media, police swiftly intervene and apprehend two individuals named by Sunil in his recording.
Despite efforts to save him, Sunil succumbs to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Jhansi. His brother, Sheetal, files a report at the Majhgawan police station, alleging that Sunil consumed the poisonous tablets after a dispute with certain individuals. Police register a case against the village headman, Dinesh, and others under section 306 of the IPC for abetting suicide, while investigations into the allegations against the Majhgawan police are also underway. Meanwhile, the village headman denies knowledge of the reasons behind Sunil's drastic action, further adding complexity to the unfolding tragedy.
